Rabies Clinic semi sucess
The Board's rabies clinic in the Chandler area on Saturday was not as big as a sucess as hoped for,but still many animals were vaccinated by Dr. Borah. We are making plans for more clinics in the spring. Our goal is to get rabies vaccination to a large percentage to our rural residents' pets. Many thanks to Judge Sue Starnes and Commisioner Ronny Lawerence for allowing us to use the court house annex parking lot and to the Sunrise Shores homeowners representative Karen Rhodes for her help at Sunrise Shores. Hope to see many dogs and cats in the spring.
Membership of the Henderson County Humane Society
Every member increases our effectiveness for animals in our community. Ask your friends to join the HCHS. Go to hchstx.com, our website, to become a member.
Maximus has held both fund & supplies drive and a "Pets for Adoption Visit"
at the facility in Athens. The fund and supply drive brought to the shelter monies for vaccinations and "loads" of needed supplies. We are always in need of both. The Maximus employees were unbelievably generous. Every needy animal in our community benifits from this kind of compassion and caring. Thanks to all at Maximus and extra thanks to Carol Eckerman and Jimmy Nolen for delivering the gifts to us.
Thank you so much to everyone who came out for the rabies clinic this past Saturday. A special thanks to our veterinarian Dr. Mark S. Borah for administering all of the injections. The HCHS will be sponsoring another drive thru rabies clinic with Dr. Borah's help on October 17, 2009 in Chandler.
